The All-Purpose Counter Bar Stools

Author: Cheryl Tee Category: bar stools, counter bar stools

If you are planning to add some extra seating around your house but are worried about the space it might occupy, not to mention your budget, then counter bar stools are a great option for you.

The main distinction of counter bar stools from standard bar stools is that they are built with a shorter height. From their seats to the floor, they can usually measure from 24 to 30 inches high. Because of their height, they are perfect to use for any counters and tabletops, whether in the kitchen or an extra seat during dinner for when a guest arrives. You can also use them for your bars at home if the counters are not built so high. Because they are not built as tall as the standard bar stools, they can easily slide under your counters. You don’t have to worry about the stools taking up too much space, or your kids bumping into them. All you have to do is pull them out to sit on and slide them in to store them away.

Counter bar stools are also perfect for game rooms. They can provide seating for your guests when you expect a lot of them to play a round of pool or just have a go at the pinball machine. And because they save a lot of space, you can no longer fret about your arms getting cramped up when shooting a score.

Counter bar stools are also great to have for when you want a cozy breakfast out on your garden or on the patio. Because of how they are lightweight, you can carry them around the house without straining your back. When you are looking for stools to use outdoors, metal ones are usually preferable because they can withstand the weather better.

In shopping around for counter bar stools, there are a lot of things to consider so you’re sure to get your money’s worth. The first thing you have to look at is comfort. Some stools are designed with a backrest, even an arm rest. The most basic you have to test out is the seat. For more comfort, choose those with cushions inside them. Secondly, you should consider the materials. Most stools are made out of wood and metal. A wooden one makes for a more traditional look and is usually cheaper. A metal one generally sports a sleeker, classic look, but can be a bit more expensive because it is built to be more durable. The third thing you have to look into is the style that you want. Of course, you want a stool that can go with the furniture that you have now, whether it’s in the kitchen or the dining room. A black fabric seat goes with everything, or you can choose a more neutral color – such as beige or cream – for a softer look.

Having your own counter bar stools is definitely the way to go if you want to upgrade the look of your house.
